About

I’m John Walters (J.W.) Burkhart, a baritone and classically trained actor working across stage, screen, and voice. A 2026 BFA graduate of Belmont University with conservatory training at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, I’m currently a company member with the Nashville Shakespeare Festival.
My work runs from Winston Smith in 1984 to triple-cast comedy in Pride and Prejudice — leading roles and character turns, drama and farce, Shakespeare and new work. I believe storytelling reaches people at a level everyday life rarely does, and I build characters an audience can meet there.
Off stage: producer of BurkAP, an independent audio-drama series.
